The search for a new director of The Flash movie is still ongoing and when we last heard about the possibility of Back to the Future director Robert Zemeckis taking the helm for The Fastest Man Alive’s first solo film outing, The Flash lost his dad. Oh Henry Allen hasn’t died again, he just left the DC Extended Universe as well.
Zemeckis is still a huge frontrunner for the position, but hot on his heels now is Kingsman and Kick-Ass writer/director Matthew Vaughn. Vaughan did bring a flair of excitement and fun with comic book films such as Kingsman and also X-Men: First Class so he could actually use some of his well-known kinetic energy to bring something unique to the Crimson Comet. Previous Spider-Man directors Sam Raimi and Marc Webb were offered the job, but passed.
Well whenever it is Zemeckis or Vaughn, one of them are also gonna need to bring along a new dad for Ezra Miller’s Barry Allan as he’s seemed to have excited the DCEU. Entertainment Weekly reported while finding out about Vaughn’s possible involvement that Billy Crudup who was cast as Henry Allen has left the project, but he’s also actually already filmed his scenes for Justice League this fall.
Well that is just very awkward. For those keeping score that’s now two directors, a screenplay, and one actor that have gone away from the project. Time to start wondering just what all is going on.
Do you think this movie could get to the finish line? Who do you want to direct The Flash? Who would you have play Henry Allen? Let us know in the comments below!
