The Flash/Supergirl Musical Crossover Casts Darren Criss as Music Meister

written by Jordan Cobb January 24, 2017

Music truly does bring everyone together, including former co-stars on TV shows!

The upcoming musical crossover between The Flash and Supergirl on The CW already boasted two former cast members from Glee in their lead heroes, Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist and now it has one more in the form of its villain. Darren Criss has been cast as the Music Meister.

Criss’ involvement with the former hit series wasn’t lost on co-creator and executive producer of both shows, Andrew Kreisberg who said, “With our Flash and our Supergirl being Glee alums, how could we not have them go up against another Glee favorite like Darren Criss? We have been blown away by his talent over the years and we can’t wait to see what he brings to the Music Meister.”

Gustin himself has been wanting to work with Criss again ever since their time on Glee saying in 2015, “I’m like, ‘Dude, we gotta get you on this thing. I don’t know in what capacity, but he’s got to.” It’ll also be interesting to see roles reversed since Gustin on Glee was an antagonist towards Criss’ character.

Criss is a well-renowned actor, singer, and songwriter for his variety of talent. Also fellow geeks, Daren Criss should sound familiar as he was the writer and lead of A Very Potter Musical.

But we also do know who all will be belting out some tunes on the crossover. In addition to our heroes and villain, cast members across the Arrowverse singing are Jesse L. Martin (Joe West), Carlos Valdes (Cisco Ramon/Vibe), Jeremy Jordan (Winn Schott), Victor Garber (Martin Stein/Firestorm), and John Barrowman (Malcolm Merlyn/Dark Archer).

The Flash/Supergirl musical crossover will air on The CW on Monday, March 20 and Tuesday, March 21 at 8PM Eastern/7PM Central both nights.
