The latest DC Character coming to The CW is…George Lucas?!

written by Jordan Cobb December 29, 2016

The DC Comics shows on The CW have really been a blast for fans since part of its appeal are characters that might not get a shot on the big screen get to shine on television. Characters like Ragman, Stargirl, Parasite, Firestorm, and Vixen have been given a great chance in the Arrowverse and now another classic DC character shall get their chance in an upcoming episode of Legends of Tomorrow and that lucky hero will be George Lucas!

Yes, George Lucas and to reaffirm what you just read, this is not a joke.

When Legends returns next month to continue its second season the team must go on a journey make sure Lucas doesn’t give up and quit film school. That is the time aberration for “Raiders of the Lost Art” and it deeply affects team members Ray Palmer/The Atom (Brandon Routh) and Nate Heywood/Steel (Nick Zano) since Star Wars led Ray to become an engineer and Raiders of the Lost Ark influenced Nate to become a historian. Lucas quitting results in their brilliance starting to slowly disappear.

Having been a film school student myself I do understand the pressures and stress such an environment can create and I thought of quitting myself, but I just thought my family would be upset at all the money that would end up wasted. Not that I would end up changing history somehow.

Thankfully there won’t be any Rogue One CGI to de-age Lucas as he’ll be played by Grimm actor, Matt Angel.

Even executive producer Marc Guggenheim spoke on the outrageous episode premise saying, “We were watching a cut of it, and I said to Greg [Berlanti] that 209 is either going to be the episode where we’ll say that the show found a new gear in terms of how zany it can be, or it’s the episode that’s going to get us all fired. It really is. You’re laughing out loud, I think with it, but it’s like, ‘Are we really doing this?’ It’s the ’70s bar fight on steroids. The whole episode is that level of crazy.”

Well I know I’ll be looking out for this when it airs.
