There have been many satirical parodies of superheroes over the decades since their inception, but for my money, there is none better than the surreal take on the genre of superhero comic books than The Tick. Be it in Ben Edlund’s original comic book, the 90s animated series, or the short-lived live-action show from 2001, The Tick has some of the strangest, weirdest, and funniest takes on the genre.
Well we’re getting plenty more Tick soon as Amazon has debuted the trailer for the latest TV effort starring the big blue bug and you can check it out down below!
Now as for the trailer, I am excited since I really loved the pilot. It had the same charm and appeal I love about The Tick, but adapting towards more of what we see in modern day superhero adaptations. Also Peter Serafinowicz is absolutely perfect casting for titular character. His boisterous, the way he pontificates his weird metaphors about justice and fighting crime, and his general attitude. He fits the role very well and Griffin Newman also fits the role of sidekick of Arthur quite well too and the pair looks to still have their dynamic chemistry from the pilot.
Now all we do is wait to see how the series will play out once it comes to Amazon Prime Video on August 25, but I have only one request and that is we finally get a live action version of Chairface Chippendale. I just really want to see that happen!
