Those of us waiting for the third Thor movie, dubbed Thor: Ragnarok, have been anxiously waiting to know who all is going to star alongside Chris Hemsworth as the Thunder God, Thor, and Mark Ruffalo as the green goliath, Hulk. With today’s cast announcement, we have a whole lot of super cool people tagging along for the ride.
The new cast to help and/or hurt Thor and Hulk is actually pretty awesome. How do you feel about the cool as hell Karl Urban, Dredd himself, as the villainous Skurge? What about oh just Academy Award winner Cate Blanchett as big bad Hella, who I’m guessing wants to bring on Ragnarok. Everybody’s favorite chaos theory supporting mathematician Jeff Goldblum will be the Grandmaster. Rounding out today’s announcement is Tessa Thompson as Valerie, an eventual Secret Avengers hero.
Thor: Ragnarok is said to catch us up on the shenanigans of the mighty duo of Thor and Hulk as they were very noticeably absent from Captain America: Civil War. Those wondering what the big deal about Ragnarok is, it’s the forseen twilight of the Asgardian gods. The end of them, where even the courageous Thor falls.
This is shaping up to be one damn fine cast and the fact that Tom Hiddelston returns as Loki plus we get Idris Elba back as Heimdall is great news and who could forget Anthony Hopkins as the Allfather, Odin. I know she’s busy with her TV show Blindspot but it would be nice if Jaime Alexander could come back as Lady Sif, I would be very happy.
Those with ants in their pants have to wait until November this year to see Thor: Ragnarok. Personally, I’m excited. Sure I’m disappointed the Natalie Portman is out but geeks, it looks like Thor is going to be pushed to the very limits. Anybody jumping with joy? I know I am!
