Tom Hardy to cameo in Star Wars Episode 8

Tom Hardy morph with Stormtrooper

Tom Hardy, star of Mad Max, The Dark Knight Rises, and possibly even the next James Bond, has a confirmed role in Star Wars: Episode VIII. Similar to Daniel Craig’s cameo in Episode VII, The actor will be playing the part of a stormtrooper of the first order.

For those that didn’t catch it, Daniel Craig played the stormtrooper that Daisy Ridley, in her role as Rey, convinced to loosen her restraints and leave the door open. Just like Craig, Hardy will be doing a little more than just marching around looking sinister. Tom’s stormtrooper will come across Finn, played by John Boyega, and recognise him as trooper FN-2187.

Tom Hardy’s trooper will surprise Finn by delivering a friendly slap to his butt, and then proceeding to congratulate Finn on his promotion to resistance infiltrator. This cheeky scene implies that the troopers are oblivious to FN-2187‘s rebellion, allowing him the opportunity to act as a double-agent.

No doubt the helmet will remain on the entire time, but I’ll be watching for this scene, ready to smile knowingly, when Star Wars: Episode VIII is finally released.
