My Top 5 Star Wars toys to make sure the “fourth” is with you

written by Liana "LiLi" R. May 4, 2016

As an avid collector, it was my duty to bring in today’s Star Wars day celebration with doing what I do best – talking figures, toys, and other assorted collectibles! So what amazing Star Wars memorabilia is hanging out in the web-verse just waiting for a new home? If you like what you see, click on the links provided and they will take you right to a site that will let you purchase your favourite collectibles for the lowest price!  Let’s check it out with my Top Five list that would make any fan of the series drool with delight:

Number One – The Bandai Tamashii Nations Meisho Movie Realization Line

The Movie Realization series is back and with a unique Feudal Japan interpretation of some iconic characters from Star Wars. The line includes the Ashigaru (*foot soldier in Japanese) Stormtropper, Boba Fett, and Samurai General Dark Vader featuring the Death Star Armor.

These figures are excellently crafted with an extreme level of detail. Each figure comes with interchangeable parts such as hands, weaponry, as well as the Bluefin Distribution seal of approval, which is key as a collector when looking for authentically licensed pieces. The price point for these figures ranges from $79.99 to $99.99.

Number Two – Life-sized BB-8 Plushie by ThinkGeek

This is one of my personal favourites – it is my companion when I’m too scared to watch horror movies by myself! This life-sized BB-8 plushie comes in at over 2 feet tall and weighs approximately 5 and 1/2 pounds! BB-8 is officially licensed and ready for cuddles – without all of that annoying beeping. With a robotic face like that, it’s just waiting to be loved.

You can find this lovable droid exclusively over at ThinkGeek’s official website for $49.99.

Number Three – Star Wars Force Awakens Figurines Playset

I immediately fell in love with this playset for a few reasons. Mainly, that it included the elusive Rey which is a figure that is oddly limited despite her being a main character. The second reason I recommend this set revolves around the fact that for it’s paltry $15 price tag, the figures are appropriately detailed. The set includes a Flametrooper, Captain Phasma, Kylo Ren, Rey, BB-8, and the beloved Finn.

This set is available on Amazon for under $15.00 and you can add that to your collection here.

Number Four – The Black Series Kylo Ren Voice Changing Helmet

If this one looks familiar, you might remember that I did a full review on it about a month ago. It’s fun, it’s realistic, and it’s limited – the three things that can make any collector smile. I won’t go into too much detail because I’ve covered every inch of this sweet piece in my review but this full helmet is ridiculously authentic. Each one with indentions etched into the exterior, fully realised helmet adjustment, and an electronic device that alters the wearer’s voice. This helmet is epic and the perfect addition for any Force Awakens fans.

This Black Series Voice Changing helmet fluctuates in price but you can expect generally around the $99 price point and they are available here.

And Number Five – The Black Series Darth Vader FX Lightsaber

You know I wasn’t going to end off this without featuring a lightsaber, come on now! When looking at cost-effective but memorable pieces for this article, I tried to remain within a certain price point which posed the situation of balancing quality and affordability. Which brings us to our final collectible/toy: The Black Series Darth Vader Force FX Lightsaber. This is the priciest one on the list which is why it was saved for last.

These bad boys offer realistic lighting effects, a metal hilt (as opposed to plastic, which is most common), a stand in order to display it as a collectible, and realistic movie sound effects to add an over-all authenticity. This line also produces other character’s beloved lightsabers, as well.

The price range runs from $150 – $200 and you can find them all here.

It’s safe to make the assumption that I am definitely more of a Dark Side kind of gal with my choices but with these pieces, whether for cutesy fun (like the plushie) or for epic reenactments of tell tale battles (like the sabers) – there is definitely something for everyone to wave your fandom flag proudly!
