I Tried 8 Starbucks Secret Menu Frappuccinos in 8 Days So You Didn’t Have To

Starbucks wants us all to have a sugar high for the next few weeks during their Frappuccino Happy Hour promotion. Starbucks Secret Menu has a lot of not-so-secret frappuccinos that I have been meaning to try. The Happy Hour was a good opportunity to try some new frappuccinos for half the price. If you wanna know what I thought, and maybe how I handled consuming that much sugar, keep reading!

Friday- Marshmallow Creme Frappuccino

What’s In It:

  • Vanilla Bean Frappuccino
  • Add white mocha syrup
  • Add vanilla syrup

What I Thought:

This was pretty good! It tasted like an ooey-gooey marshmallow straight off a campfire…if the marshmallow still maintained it’s gooey-ness while cold. This one is by far my favorite. I will be getting it again!

Saturday- Shamrock Frappuccino

What’s In It:

  • Start with a Vanilla Bean Frappuccino
  • Add peppermint syrup
  • Add classic syrup
  • Add matcha powder

What I thought:

Hard pass, it kinda tasted like toothpaste to me. Of course, I let my husband have it and he loved it. Even ate the rest of it. According to him, it’s more of a chocolate mint taste, without the chocolate. Still, I feel like I had just brushed my teeth

Sunday- Caramel Pick Me Up Frappuccino

What’s In It:

  • Vanilla Bean Frappuccino
  • Add caramel syrup
  • Caramel walls
  • CAFFEINE OPTION: Add ristretto shots (1 tall, 2 grande and 3 venti) I passed on this because it was evening and I needed to sleep that night
  • Top with whipped cream and caramel drizzle

What I Thought:

Now, had this not have been at 5pm on a Sunday, I might have added the caffeine. But since I didn’t want to stay awake until Tuesday, I didn’t add it. However, it was really good. Tasted like a caramel square.

Monday-Triple Berry Cobbler Frappuccino

What’s In it:

  • Vanilla Bean Frappuccino
  • Add white mocha syrup
  • Add raspberry syrup
  • Add freeze dried blackberries
  • Double blend and top with whipped cream

What I thought:

This tasted like one of those pies that get stolen while cooling on a window sill. Yeah, it reminds me of the good old days. I wondered if there were graham cracker crumbs in there if it would taste even more pie-like. Still, very fruity, refreshing, and delicious. I recommend for a hot summer day while you gossip on the porch.

Tuesday- Pink Starburst Frappuccino

What’s in it:

  • Lemonade to the bottom line
  • Raspberry Syrup
  • Add Vanilla Syrup
  • Add ice and blend with whipped cream

What I thought:

They definitely nailed the pink Starburst flavor. It still wasn’t my favorite. But maybe I will try again when I decide to ingest an entire bag of pink Starbursts.

Wednesday- Birthday Cake Frappuccino

What’s In It:

  • Vanilla Bean Frappuccino
  • Hazelnut syrup

What I thought:

Something with like, two ingredients, couldn’t possibly taste anything like a birthday cake, right? I was wrong! This may even beat out the Marshmallow Frappuccino because this drink is delicious!! It tasted just like a birthday cake! It may even taste better than the limited edition Unicorn Frappuccino that we don’t speak of anymore.

Thursday- Birthday Cake Frappuccino (cake pop version)

What’s in it:

  • Vanilla Bean Frappuccino
  • 1 cake pop blended in

What I thought:

No thank you. I mean, it isn’t bad, but it’s not like the first version of the Birthday Frappuccino. Weird, you would think cake would make the best birthday cake ice cream. Hazelnut wins.

Friday- Strawberry Shortcake Frappuccino

What’s in it:

  • Strawberry Juice to the first line of the cup
  • Milk to the next line
  • Vanilla Bean Powder
  • White mocha syrup
  • Toffee Nut Syrup

What I thought:

An extremely complicated order that tastes no different than a Strawberries and Creme Frappuccino. Save your barista the headache and just order that instead. They taste EXACTLY the same.

three hands holding three different Starbucks Secret Menu drinks

Maybe it was the exhaustion of the complicated Strawberry Shortcake Frappuccino order, but I was a little burnt out on Frappuccinos after Friday. Sure, two more days of the promotion still were ahead of me, but I decided to give my body a break from sugar after that. I’m gonna lay off sugary drinks for a while, at least until the next promotion.

Have you guys tried any of the Starbucks Secret Menu drinks? What was your favorite? Tell us in the comments below!
