This morning Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida took to the PlayStation blog to let the world know that copies of Naughty Dogs‘ latest Uncharted game had been stolen while in transit ahead of it’s release date. Sony is working closely with the police on this criminal investigation and it does appear that some of the copies have surfaced in the UK.

Stealing and pirating games is nothing new and while I have no doubt that the offenders will be caught the biggest threat to the gamers is potential spoilers. Some players do not mind spoilers but for others it can ruin the entire gaming experience. On top of that leaked information about the game could cause harm to video game sales across the board depending on the nature of the leak as video game companies work very hard to make sure they put their best foot forward when it comes to the release of a video game.

You can check out the gameplay trailer  for Naughty Dog’s latest below and make sure to keep a weather eye out for spoilers in the near future.

Uncharted 4 is set several years after the events of it’s predecessor. Nathan has retired and is enjoying a life with his wife when his brother, who he believed dead, reappears to ask for help. The plot of the game revolves around Libertatia – a possibly fictional pirate colony, first written about in the book A General History of the Pyrates, and its legendary treasure. The globe trotting adventure is said to be Nathan’s biggest yet and will push his limits unlike any other adventure before.

It will be released world wide May 10th and can still be pre-ordered:
