Verizon is tacking on another $20 fee

written by Shane "Geek" Lundberg March 31, 2016

Looking at upgrading your phone on Verizon service after April 4th? It will cost you an extra $20 according to CNNMoney. Big red will be adding on the $20 upgrade fee due to “people are switching devices more frequently” a Verizon spokeswoman told CNNMoney on Thursday. Due to this happening Verizon needs to cover the costs of processing higher device turnover.

The only way for customers to avoid this fee is to buy their phones from other outlets like Amazon, Best Buy or an Apple Store.

Once upon a time there were upgrade fees right along with activation fees. Then we moved to new upgrade options to avoid these fees…and now are back in full circle to upgrade fees and activation fees. What do you think? Does anyone think this fee makes sense? Sound off in the poll below.
