Any The Walking Dead fans out there? You may want to take a seat for this because there is a new showrunner and executive producer in town. Angela Kang has recently been given a higher position by Scott Gimple, who is taking the role as Chief.
Angela Kang’s New Role for ‘The Walking Dead’
Kang has been on The Walking Dead writing team since 2011. It wasn’t until 2013 when she became a co-executive producer. Things keep looking up for Angela! This zombie-rific show has been around since 2010, which makes this season their 9th. AMC recently announced the show’s renewal. It seems Gimple is more than happy to hand over the torch to Angela, with trust. Scott expresses his thoughts to AMC:
Angela is a big part of the heart and soul of The Walking Dead, and I’m thrilled to help facilitate her vision of the show’s next era.
Not only will Scott Gimple preside over the show, but it’s companion Fear the Walking Dead. The show has been a hit for many years, but it’s seen a decline in ratings. So, it’s clear how this shook things up. The writers and producers want to make the most of the upcoming tenth year. Here Scott shares his thoughts on the continuation of the show:
The Walking Dead is a special show which started in an entirely different era of TV, and continues, in this new era, to confidently take chances to tell compelling stories that excite audiences and make them deeply connect with its characters, adapting Robert Kirkman’s brilliant comic book.
As season 8 comes to a close, a new era of the beloved show The Walking Dead will make its mark. New season, new producer, and a new year. Don’t fret, you won’t have to wait much longer for the latter half of season 8, as it premieres February 25 on AMC.
If any of you have watched The Walking Dead, I’d like to hear your insight on the choice of promotion. Also, on how you think the ninth season will go. Do any of you plan to watch the premiere on TV? We’re all ears!
