There’s a Warhammer 40,000 game in development that allows you to play an Imperial Inquisitor. The developer, Neocore Games, has written some great background fluff articles to explain where the Inquisitors fit in the Imperium of Man. Basically, the Inquisition have been granted the authority to investigate the Imperium itself for signs of corruption from Chaos, and purge the unclean.
The game was announced as an action-rpg back in July 2015. Since then they’ve released several technical demo videos and wallpapers that show off the sci-fi gothic atmosphere of the game. I used to play the Warhammer 40,000 Inquisitor table-top rpg before it was archived in Games-Workshop’s Specialist Games vault, alongside Battlefleet Gothic and Bloodbowl. Both of which have now become video games too. Battlefleet Gothic Armada was released for download from Steam just a few days ago at the time of writing.
There’s no posted release date as yet, it seems to still be in the early stages of development. When it does come out it will be available on Steam for PC and Apple, XboxOne and PS4. I will be watching eagerly for more information on Inquisitor: Martyr. Here’s their teaser trailer:
