Sunday night, millions were watching the Patriots and Falcons clash on their TV screens. While many people watch the biggest game of the year just for the commercials, we got several fantastic trailers as well! The newest look at the upcoming X-Men film, Logan, did not disappoint. Whether you caught it live during the Super Bowl or not, watch it now!
Amazing grace how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me.
Breaking it Down
This quick 30 second spot showed us some footage we have already seen, mixed in with some fresh clips. I’m personally looking forward to seeing Wolverine and X-23 go to battle together during that fight scene in the woods. I am also happy to be seeing so much of Patrick Stewart’s Professor X in these trailers. I hope it translates to a lot of screen time for the revered actor in the full movie itself.
Even though it looks like the movie will diverge from the beloved Wolverine: Old Man Logan (buy it on Amazon!) comic book storyline, it seems to be borrowing many of the thematic elements from Millar and McNiven’s work. As a fan of X-23, I’m also excited to see her story be told for the very first time in movie form.
The Last Logan
As you should already know, this will be Hugh Jackman’s final performance as Wolverine on the big screen. He’s played the character a total of 8 times now, between the main X-Men films and the standalone movies. This looks very promising as one last hurrah for the actor who has defined this complicated badass for an entire generation of moviegoers.
Logan will be screened out of competition at the 67th Berlin International Film Festival in 2017, which runs from February 9th to the 18th. It will be released in US theaters nationwide, on March 3, 2017. And yes, it will be in IMAX, among other formats.
So, how hyped are you geeks to see Jackman take out his claws one last time? Also, do you think this will be the launching point for more of Laura Kinney/X-23 in future movies? Let us know in the comments!
