The Doctor Who fandom awoke to some (potentially) sad news this morning. There have been reports that the “BBC staff have recently been informed that showrunner Steven Moffat’s commitments to his other hit show Sherlock mean that there will be no full series of Doctor Who in 2016.” Doctor Who Season 9 has been filming in Cardiff since January and begins on BBC One on Saturday 19 September.
So where does this leave our beloved Doctor? Only time will tell, but there could potentially be a lot of sad Whovians out there come 2016. Do you think it could be possible for this to be a good thing? Could a small break in the franchise lead to fresher and new ideas, or could it lead to the end of The Doctor? As an avid fan myself, I certainly hope it is not the latter.
