Retro Receiver: The wireless NES experience

The original NES: the system by Nintendo that spurred gaming into a whirlwind of innovation. It brought us titles such as Mario Bros, Contra, The Legend of Zelda, Castlevania, and so many more. Titles that have since evolved through the ages with each generation of platform. For most of us seasoned gamers, the NES symbolizes the start of our gaming adventure giving us memories of questing and intrigue, spells and insane boss fights, vampires and gun-toting meat heads … fond memories indeed.

Now 8BitDo and Analogue is making it possible to reminiscence on old times from more than 3 feet in front of a television screen. This is awesome news for us oldies that want to revisit the classics or bestow upon our roots onto the newer generations. So how does it work?

8BitDo and Analogue have teamed up to create a bluetooth receiver that plugs right into the original NES system where a controller would normally be inserted and with that it will communicate with any 8BitDo controller. The adapter will also work with any wireless controller that came out in later generations, including the PlayStation 4.
