“Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.”
One of the complaints about Batman vs Superman was that they showed too much in their trailers. DC must have received the message because they could not be bigger prudes with Wonder Woman.
Though I have to say, I certainly don’t mind. While it may be frustrating now—since we don’t even officially know who the villain is—I think it will be well worth the wait. It is pretty much the difference between ‘BOOM naked people’ and a slow strip tease. The anticipation is just part of the game with DC this time around.
DC released a new International Extended TV spot, and while you have seen a majority of these scenes already, it is still extremely bad-ass. Check it out!
This trailer features Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) talking over the trailer all empowering and awesome. And let’s be honest, that scene with the lasso? Fricken Nerd-gasm.
Possible Villain for Wonder Woman?
Who could it be that she’s beating the shit out of? Could it be the main villain or some other poor soul?
Again, while we don’t know for sure who the prime villain is, there are definitely some rumors.
For example, Twitter user Anna Gene Ommen (@AnnaOmmen) posted these pictures on her Twitter page:
These are toys, featuring Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor, have extra pieces in them. Now this isn’t uncommon with other Marvel and DC toy lines. They take a hero and put a piece with them, usually a villain, to encourage you to collect them all and assemble the bad dude.
As you can see in rather blurry font on the front, it says, “Ares”. These toys are obviously from the movie line, so it could be said that Ares will most likely be in the movie—though how villain-y he is, is unknown.
The strange thing about this is that there are no other pictures of these toys, and no other sources confirming that these exist. So feel free to take it as seriously as you want.
This isn’t the only rumor to claim Ares as the villain, check out the previous one here!
Who do you think the villain could be? How much do you think the movie will follow the plot? Do you think these toys are real or fake? Let us know your opinions in the comments!
