Following the awesome idea of unbundling the Kinect from the Xbox One and thus dropping the price to $399, sales of the console more than doubled in the month of June. Fans have been clamoring for the $399 price point and a Kinectless option since the Xbox One was unveiled. By dropping the price, the console could now compete with the mega selling PS4.
The other thing going for the Xbox One is the short list of exclusives coming out for the system like the Master Chief Collection, Crackdown (yay!) and Sunset Overdrive. Of course Microsoft is also happy to get multiplatform blockbusters like Assassin’s Creed Unity, Evolve and the remastered Grand Theft Auto V among many others.
Being both a Sony and Microsoft fan, I’m glad to see the Xbox One gaining some traction against the white-hot PS4. We console gamers need both systems to be successful to ward off the PC master racers. I for one love my consoles and want them to stick around.
