xXx: Return of Xander Cage Trailer Gets Pulse Pounding

When Vin Diesel isn’t racing cars we can only dream of affording across the world to stop bad guys, pull off heists, perform incredible automobile stunts, and talk about family in every other scene, he’s saving the world as the extreme sports version of James Bond, Xander Cage.

We were first introduced to Xander Cage back in 2002’s xXx, which saw Diesel reunited with The Fast and the Furious director Rob Cohen. The movie proved to be a financial hit amongst mixed reception so a sequel was ordered and was released in 2005. This time it was xXx: State of the Union, only except of Cohen, Lee Tamahori (Die Another Day) was directing Ice Cube in the place of Vin Diesel. That wasn’t so well received and underperformed.

A return to Diesel as Cage has been in development for the longest time, but has now come to fruition in xXx: Return of Xander Cage with Disturbia’s D.J. Caruso behind the camera this time around. Take a look at the official trailer below!

Safe to say that the movie took a good look at the laws of physics and then chucked it out the window before writing whatever ludicrous stunts its brain could ever think of. Fan or not you have to admit that some of the stunts shown off in the trailer are mind bogglingly impressive and just downright cool to look at. This movie is certainly not afraid to embrace the whole crazy concept that made the first film what it was.

Plus I’m pretty sure you’re not going to see Daniel Craig’s James Bond riding waves on a motorbike. Well Roger Moore’s maybe.

We also get a good look at the rest of the cast with Samuel L. Jackson’s Augustus Gibbons, who originally recruited Xander, returning and the additions of other action stars such as Tony Jaa and Donnie Yen, who will be the villain of the film. The film also stars Toni Collette, Ruby Rose, Deepika Padukone, and Rory McCann.

What did you think of the trailer? Are there any spies you’d like to see Xander Cage go up against in an espionage X-Games? Let us know in the comments below!

xXx: Return of Xander Cage will crash into theaters on January 20, 2017.
