It’s our favorite time of year here at DHTG! San Diego Comic-Con is here and over the next week we will be flooded with new toys, movie trailers, and SDCC exclusives.
The collectibles community is already getting treated to a feast of new exclusives to drool over thanks to high-end collectible company Hot Toys and their 1/6 and 1/4 scale figures display on the Comic-Con floor. It’s worth noting that, along with these sneak peeks thanks to Hot Toys Collectors, we are getting a first proper look at costumes from future releases such as Justice League and Thor: Ragnarok. Let’s dive right in and see what’s on offer!
Star Wars
We’ve seen Luke in various forms before from Hot Toys but with every new release comes an even better likeness. And look at Grand Moff Tarkin!! That likeness is incredible!
Thor: Ragnarok
The accuracy of head sculpts on Hot Toys’ figures used to be a point of contention with some collectors over the years. It seems there’s nothing to scoff at here as these figure look more lifelike than ever before. Hulk’s armor looks terrific!
Justice League
Looks like Superman could be wearing a much brighter suit in Justice League if this figure represents the character accurately. Even in 1/6 scale Diana and Aquaman look badass. Ezra Miller’s likeness has not been approved for distribution at this time, hence the figure appearing incomplete.
Admittedly if you have any hope of being able to afford the entire Justice League lineup in one transaction, you will need a hefty wad of cash! These figures average at $250 each! Add another $800+ for that superbly detailed Batmobile too. There are dedicated collectors that will do so, that’s for certain. There’s still folk out there waiting for Hot Toys to finish releasing every Iron Man 3 armor from the ‘house party protocol’ scene. That’s 30+ figures!! Meh, who needs life savings?
