New York City Big Apple Con just announced that Comic Book legend and Grand Master Geek, Stan Lee has canceled his appearance at the convention citing health reasons.

No details were given regarding the specific health concerns for Lee, who is 94 years old.  Presumably, his age combined with his punishing schedule are the cause of the cancellation.  In any case, nerds across the world will be wishing him a speedy recovery this weekend.

For those that have been residing with Patrick Star under a rock throughout the last century, Stan Lee is responsible for the creation of such characters as Spider-Man, Hulk, Doctor Strange, Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Thor, X-Men, and many more.

He is best known by the younger generation for his cameos in popular Marvel movies.  The most popular of which included: Strip Club MC in Deadpool, Fed Ex guy in Captain America Civil War, and “Class A Creeper” in Guardians of the Galaxy.

Without a doubt, the comic book and film world would not be the same without the contributions of this brilliant man.  We are sure there will be many disappointed fans at Big Apple Con but the important thing is that Stan is given an opportunity to rest and recover.  Tell us about your favorite Stan Lee cameos in the comments below!
