Ladies and gentlemen, The Predator is NOT a reboot, rehash, or retread in any way shape or form. Just in case you were on the fence about this latest addition to the franchise, The Predator Red Band trailer is here to put your fears to rest.
I usually only watch one trailer per film because I don’t trust trailer makers anymore. Trailer makers have ruined more than a few films I was excited about. I especially try to avoid them when it comes to sci-fi, action and/or horror, films.
I don’t know what you were doing when you hung out with your mom, but I was watching movies I totally shouldn’t have been; like the original Predator starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. In hindsight, watching this in a house that sat in front of a densely wooded area…not the best idea if sound sleep is your thing.
So, I didn’t need much info before deciding I’d give The Predator a shot in September when it hits theaters.
How Are We Even Dealing with Predators again?
The official word is: When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race. But, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species.
Watch The Predator Red Band Trailer Now!
Ok, full disclosure: The Predator stars Sterling K. Brown so I was down to watch as soon as they announced his name. But he’s merely leading a cast riddle with talent because The Predator also stars, Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Jacob Tremblay, Keegan-Michael Key, Olivia Munn, Alfie Allen, Thomas Jane, Augusto Aguilera, Jake Busey, Yvonne Strahovski and Niall Matter.
If there isn’t a nice bit of story acting as a backdrop to the slaughter (hopefully), I’m blaming the writers.
After catching a glimpse of the new armor in Empire I really don’t need to know anything else until it’s time to buy a ticket.
I do so love when it looks like the “bad guy” is coming ready to bitchslap and blow up everything in its path…which of course, explains why I’m all giddy after watching The Predator Red Band Trailer.
Headed to San Diego Comic-Con this Year?

Sidenote for the collectors lurking about…
Director Shane Black posted a pic of what looks like a mockup of a Predator dog in the works from Funko so make some room on those shelves for new toys.
The Predator hits US theaters nationwide September 14, 2018.
How about you? Excited for Shane Black’s reinvention of the Predator franchise? Hit up and let DHTG know or tell us when you think this franchise should’ve thrown in the towel.
