It often is fascinating to think about how technology changes and advances nowadays. Perhaps we truly are in the future, but something new is coming. On par with the iPhone, Alexa, Roomba, 3D printers, high-performing PC units, it will change everything! I present to you, the Plumbus X!
What a time to be alive.
Okay, now to get serious, this actually is a pretty cool parody. There are a lot of strange and unique devices created throughout Rick and Morty, but none more perplexing than the Plumbus. It first debuted on the series back in the second season episode, “Interdimensional Cable 2: Tempting Fate” on a parody of the TV show, How It’s Made.
Done by YouTuber Nimrod Zaguri, the video is a hilarious sendup of the marketing Apple does for the iPhone in going into great detail of the creation of their products and its presentation as well. Nimrod did a pretty remarkable job mocking how Apple presents itself for a fictional product that can pretty much be everything and do everything. The close-ups as well to show off its look also feels strikingly similar to past videos done by Apple. The funniest bit is the narration, the serious voice giving grand descriptions of sci-fi words most of us likely thought up of when we were children.
There are plenty of things from Rick and Morty that we wish could be real, but man I sure could use me a Plumbus right about now. Too bad the thing isn’t real. Though you can actually find out how to make your own Plumbus via 3D printing by watching the video below!
