Gears of War: Judgement – Review
Last Updated on Wednesday, 27 March 2013 03:51 Written by smokydaburr Wednesday, 27 March 2013 03:51
Gears of War: Judgement is the newest edition to the Gears family and is set before the events of the trilogy, following the events directly after Emergence Day. It follows Kilo squad which is the home of Baird and Cole from the original games as well as introducing two new people, Paduk and Sofia. All of whom you will play as during the campaign learning about each character as they tell their testimony through game progression.
Being an avid Gears fan having followed the story from the beginning in Aspho Fields during the Pendulum Wars to the end in Azura, it was nice to be able to play and see what happened with some of the characters before they were the saviors we expected. Having said that I know I may seem biased and that I will not be giving a fair review, but this game has quite a few downfalls so hear me out. I will keep this as spoiler free as possible.

Gears of War: Judgement bleeds the eyes with E3 trailer! [VIDEO]

What’s better than a cover reveal for a major franchise? Why the first bloody trailer for Gears of War: Judgement, that’s what! E3 2012 brought forth the freshness and I’m not thinking the Pendulum Wars is the time frame for the new installment. The trailer is full of quick hits to excite the brain – falling lancers, bodies dropping, cities on fire and Baird shackled like a three time convict.
Baird is a smart-ass COG, a genius and my third favorite Gear. So what did he do to get put in the iron bracelets and tossed around by fellow COG soldiers. Beyond that, the Game Informer cover(s) also show series show off, Cole, in the same pose. Well sorta, I mean Cole’s shoulders dwarf little old Baird’s by a considerable amount. All we really know is that the game is going to be awesome and will hit (presumably) the Xbox 360 in Fall of 2013.
Hit the break and watch the gorgeous video in its glory, then sound off in the comments. Let’s hear your ideas, cheers and jeers!

COGs, Gear up! New Gears of War to be unveiled at E3!
Last Updated on Monday, 22 October 2012 06:53 Written by LoganDX Thursday, 31 May 2012 03:35
You didn’t really think Epic was done with the Gears of War world, did you? Good because Game Informer just dusted off a preview of their next issue and it reveals what every fan hoped for – more Gears! The cover has some of Locust flying around being annoying as usual and a couple of COG soldiers framing a shadowed handcuffed man. Who is that mysterious prisoner?
Since the end of Gears 3, many a fan has been clamoring for the next iteration of the revered series to be a prequel and focus on the Pendulum Wars. Detail oriented players know that time period is when Marcus made a name for himself and ended up in the clink. The same clink Dom (MARIA!) busted his BFF out of at the beginning of Gears of War.
Other than the cover, no more details have been let loose, let’s be honest though, all it takes IS a cover to get fans in a frothing frenzy. Stay tuned geeks, E3 is next week and Game Informer promises Monday will reveal even more, including another cover(!) and a teaser video. Oh yeah and I’m sure Microsoft and Epic might have something to tell us next week too. Sound off geeks, happy or not? Frantic or cucumber cool? Hit the break and use those comments!

Game of Thrones RPG gets UK release date
Last Updated on Tuesday, 22 May 2012 04:14 Written by JCWaitWat Tuesday, 22 May 2012 03:27
The video game adaptation of the highly successful fictional books by George R.R. Martin is due to land on British shores on June 8th. The game will be playable on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC and will focus primarily on the story developed in the books “A Song of Ice and Fire” rather than the popular television series. The game has you alternate between several characters letting you experience “parallel” story lines and will be powered by Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 3 (the same engine that ran Batman: Arkham City).
To further this announcement Cyanide studios also released a press statement describing what players can expect to see:
Offering a brand new story developed with creative input from George R.R, Martin himself, Game of Thrones is a stunning action role-playing game that throws fans into a rich, fantasy environment as they engage in a heart-pounding quest for the famous Iron Throne. Playing as Mors, Sworn Brother of the Night’s Watch, and Alester, a Red Priest in search of redemption, players can expect to visit familiar locations from Westeros, such as The Wall and the famous King’s Landing, while well-known faces you’ll encounter include Queen Cersei, Varys the Spider and Jeor Mormont, Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch.
In Game of Thrones, players have full control of their character’s development; choose your character’s class, find your fighting style, develop a balance between your strengths and weaknesses, and take part in epic battles. Find, buy or loot new equipment and weapons to fit your fighting style, and gain experience to improve your abilities. Likewise, political skills can be every bit as lethal as a sharpened sword, so never underestimate the power of a silver tongue when it comes to solving a critical situation!
Whether this game will become a cult classic like the books and television series that preceded it only time will tell. Until then stay tuned for more news on the Game of Thrones RPG.
