It’s time I guess. Time to wave goodbye at this wonderful story that has taken us on so many journeys. Telltale’s The Walking Dead has announced its last season, and while we were expecting it, I still can’t believe that it’s almost over.
The series began with (my personal favorite) Lee, saving little Clementine and trying to survive through the beginning of the walker ‘invasion’. It has been a good long while since then, six years give or take. Since then, Telltale has given us two more seasons.
We had the chance to play as Clementine in the second season, and see how she survived without help from the person she trusted the most. We saw her stitch her own arm, get shot and survive, and even become a mother by adopting little Aj.
On the third season, Telltale changed their ‘perspective’ as the gave us new characters to play with! Again, Telltale gave us the chance to see Clementine; how she grew up, what happened to her since we last left her and how she survived and met the new characters.
It’s not uncommon for The Walking Dead to have characters that will die during the story. In the new teaser trailer announced by Telltale, we see a grown-up Clementine finally reunited with AJ! Which is good! Until Clementine asks AJ to cite the rules of survival.
What’s the first rule?
Never go alone.
And what do we do when the monsters come?
We shoot them in the head.
And what else?
Always save the last bullet for yourself.
Until that point everything was fine. Clementine had clearly taught AJ how to survive. And then she asks one last question.
Now… What do you do, if I get bit?
Okay, hear me out. I don’t want Clementine to die. No one does. The game pretty much grew around this little girl and her survival. But she needed to make sure that she would not end up like Lee did. Because that last line is a reference to the first Walking Dead Telltale made.

The game premieres on August 18th on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC! It will also arrive on Nintendo Switch later on this year!
Until then, why not replay all the other seasons?
