Undoubtedly a standout from Captain America: Civil War and the lore of Marvel Comics itself, Black Panther will finally grace the silver screen on his own in his first solo feature film and during Game 4 of this year’s NBA Finals, we gout our first little taste of what to expect in the Ryan Coogler led film.
Check it out for yourself!
Now that was just plain cool.
What I love most about this trailer is the building up of what a unique location Wakanda is from many fictional setting in superhero comic books. We see enough of its aesthetics to get a good feel of how different this will appear from other Marvel Cinematic Universe ventures, which is good considering this is just a teaser.
As a teaser, it does give just enough to get people excited and I already am feeling the heavy influence from the amazing run of stories by Christopher Priest, which might just make this as political a movie as Civil War. We’ll have to see. Then there is the Dora Milaje we’ll fully be meeting, the royal family as well, exploring the culture of Wakanda, and just how creepy that laugh from Andy Serkis’ Klaue was.
Oh and having the music be from Run the Jewels helps a lot as well. That is just awesome to me.
Chadwick Boseman continues to be impressive as T’Challa even in this brief snippet of the film, but we already saw him absolutely nail the role in Civil War so yeah.
This will also make a huge splash given it will be one of the more diverse comic book adapted films in terms of cast and crew for a big mainstream superhero picture, something that has been a hot topic of discussion for some time now for the recent crop of said films.
