British Academy Game Awards: Senua looking over misty mountains

Another brilliant year for gaming has ended, and a new one has begun! With that, the British Academy Game Awards winners of 2018 have officially been announced! So many new games were created, with unique stories and fascinating graphics. It’s honestly hard to choose which one to play next.

When the winners were revealed last Thursday, most of the games that won had been expected. Super Mario Odyssey won twice, and Hellblade: Senuad’s Sacrifice won a total of five awards. However, what no one expected was What Remains of Edith Finch winning the Best Game award!

Without further ado, here are the winners of the 2018 British Academy Game Awards!

In all honesty, I more than enjoyed the story of What Remains of Edith Finch. It’s a refreshing, first-person tale, different from what I usually play. The visuals are amazing, and there’s always a puzzle or plot twist to keep you on your toes. It’s also a story within a story, and its creators carefully composed it this way in order to intrigue the player. In other words, it’s a game worth every minute of gameplay.

What do you think about the British Academy Game Awards? Do you believe that What Remains of Edith Finch deserves the award, or would you rather have another game win? Let us know in the comments!
