Review: Does Wreck-It Ralph Make It or Wreck It?
Last Updated on Thursday, 8 November 2012 02:31 Written by ClassicT Thursday, 8 November 2012 03:00
Contains minor spoilers. You have been warned!
Wreck-It Ralph promised a video game movie with lots of goodies from well-known games like Street Fighter and Pac-Man, and boy does it deliver. This movie never lets you forget it is in a game. If some characters has some specific sound for some specific action, like Fix-It Felix and his jump with a “boing” sound, then you will hear that “boing” every time Ralph jumps. the background characters in Ralph’s game always move in some way to mimic their 8-bit screen counter-part.

Say what? Disney bought Lucasfilm for $4.05 billion?!?
Last Updated on Tuesday, 30 October 2012 05:11 Written by LoganDX Tuesday, 30 October 2012 05:10
It’s unbelievably true but the House of the Mouse is now more powerful than the Dark Lord of the Sith! In a surprising move, Disney has scooped up Lucasfilm for a massive $4.05 billion. For those counting along at home, that means Mickey Mouse is now (in a round about way) related to Wolverine and Luke Skywalker. Very, very interested to go to that Thanksgiving dinner. I mean who slices the turkey, Wolvie and his adamantium claws or Darth Vader and his lightsaber?
The other big news to come out of this it that Star Wars: Episode 7 will begin production and release sometime in 2015. No, they gave no details surrounding the plot or whether it will be any good or not – except it will not be helmed by George Lucas. I imagine that there will be a third trilogy of at least massive special effects and grand set pieces. Interested in what flannel clad bearded maestro George Lucas has to say? Glad you asked:
For the past 35 years, one of my greatest pleasures has been to see Star Wars passed from one generation to the next. It’s now time for me to pass Star Wars on to a new generation of filmmakers. I’ve always believed that Star Wars could live beyond me, and I thought it was important to set up the transition during my lifetime. I’m confident that with Lucasfilm under the leadership of Kathleen Kennedy, and having a new home within the Disney organization, Star Wars will certainly live on and flourish for many generations to come. Disney’s reach and experience give Lucasfilm the opportunity to blaze new trails in film, television, interactive media, theme parks, live entertainment, and consumer products.
So there you have it folks, a mega conglomerate of franchises. Maybe they can get a proper Indiana Jones flick going? Let’s see what the future holds. Hit the break and light up those comments geeks!
