I know that we’ve finally gotten some nice weather after what felt like a much too long winter, but is it October yet? I really do not want to wait four months to see the new Halloween film. The full trailer dropped today.
According to the official website, in this film,
Jamie Lee Curtis returns to her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.
In the trailer, we hear Laurie say that she prayed every night that he would escape. Someone asks the question on others’ minds, “Why the hell would you do that?” The answer is simple. “So that I could kill him,” Laurie says. Well, Laurie, I am pretty sure that one of the rules of horror films is to be careful what you wish for!
So what are you waiting for? Check out the trailer now!
Not only is Jamie Lee Curtis reprising her role as Laurie Strode, but Nick Castle is also back as Michael Myers, and John Carpenter is a producer. Halloween’s website credits Jeff Fradley, Danny McBride, and David Gordon Green as the writers, saying that they have “crafted a story that carves a new path from the events in the landmark 1978 film”. That means this installment undoes all previous sequels of the franchise, including the fact that Laurie is Michael’s sister, as heard in the trailer. This will definitely make preparing to watch the film easier for viewers as they only have to go back and rewatch the 1978 Halloween, and will not have to sit through any of the seven sequels or either of the Rob Zombie Halloween films (though I did like his take on the movies).
Halloween will hit theaters October 19, 2018.
Are you looking forward to this installment? What do you think of this film erasing all previous sequels? Tell us in the comments!
